REGIONAL SEMIFINAL GAMES

No. 4 Iowa State 69, No. 9 Michigan State 68: Alison Lacey capped a furious finish for Iowa State that sent the Cyclones into the regional finals for just the second time in school history.

Lacey hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 23 seconds remaining and fourth-seeded Iowa State scored the final eight points in a 69-68 victory over ninth-seeded Michigan State on Saturday night.

No. 2 Stanford 84, No. 3 Ohio State 66: Playing in its second NCAA Sweet 16 in four years, No. 3 seed Ohio State fell to No. 2 seed Stanford, 84-66, in the Berkeley Regional Semifinal game of the 2009 NCAA Tournament Saturday at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, Calif.

The 6,178 fans in attendance were dominated by Cardinal faithful with Stanford’s campus just 40 miles away from the Berkeley campus.
