 PARK RIDGE, Ill. - Featuring vast exposure for its 11 institutions, the Big Ten Conference today released its 2008-09 women's basketball conference schedule. The regular-season slate includes 41 games set to air on national television, with 36 contests on the Big Ten Network, four on ESPN2 and one on CBS.

In addition, all 10 games of the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament will be broadcast live on national television for the second consecutive year with the first nine contests appearing on the Big Ten Network and the championship game broadcast on ESPN2.

The conference portion of the Big Ten women's basketball schedule opens on Saturday, Dec. 20, as Indiana hosts Northwestern. The first televised conference matchups up of the season take place one day later as the Big Ten Network broadcasts a doubleheader with Michigan State at Penn State at Noon ET and Michigan at Ohio State at 2 p.m. ET.

The regular season concludes with a series of wildcard games beginning Sunday, Feb. 22, as ESPN2 will air one of the day's four contests. The Big Ten Network will broadcast two wildcard matchups, one on Thursday, Feb. 26, and another to close out the season on Sunday, March 1.

Each Big Ten team will make at least four national television appearances during the conference season, including two on their home court.
