Big Ten Announces Expanded Coverage for Women's Basketball

Big Ten Women's Basketball Broadcast Schedule in PDF Format PARK RIDGE, Ill. – Big Ten women’s basketball teams will receive more coverage than ever before with a record 119 games set to be distributed by the Big Ten Network, BigTenNetwork.com, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU during the 2008-09 regular season. In addition to the conference television schedule the Big Ten announced in early September, 32 non-conference games will appear on the five platforms and an additional 45 conference matchups will be streamed live on BigTenNetwork.com. In all, the Big Ten Network currently boasts a slate of 55 regular-season games on its linear channel and an additional 56 on its website. All games on BigTenNetwork.com will be streamed live and made available free-of-charge. ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will combine to broadcast seven games, including four during the conference portion of the schedule. CBS is scheduled to air one Big Ten matchup. Big Ten women’s basketball coverage begins on Friday, Nov. 14, as reigning Big Ten Co-Champion Ohio State hosts Butler at 7 p.m. ET on BigTenNetwork.com. Coverage continues two days later on the network’s website as Purdue welcomes IUPUI at 2 p.m. ET. The first televised game of the season takes place on Monday, Nov. 17, as the Big Ten Network will broadcast an interconference showdown between Kansas State and Northwestern in Evanston at 8 p.m. CT. ESPN’s first broadcast of the season occurs on Tuesday, Nov. 18, as 2007 Big Ten Co-Champion Iowa heads to Kansas for a 2 p.m. ET tip.
