ROSEMONT, Ill. – With the 2017-18 women’s college basketball season rapidly approaching, the Big Ten Conference will hold its second annual Women’s Basketball Week Oct. 23-30. Media and fans will have several ways to follow their favorite teams, coaches and students online at bigten.org, via social media channels and a media teleconference leading up to the start of the new season.
Preseason coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. (ET) next Monday (Oct. 23), with the exclusive release on the conference’s women’s basketball Twitter feed (@B1GWBBall) of the Big Ten women’s basketball preseason polls, all-conference teams and Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year, as chosen by the Big Ten coaches and a select media panel. The schedules for all 14 Big Ten schools will also be featured Monday on Twitter (@B1GWBBall).
From Tuesday-Thursday (Oct. 24-26), video interviews conducted by BTN with all 14 head coaches and select students from each school (as well as profiles of conference women’s basketball students) will be posted on various social media channels, including Twitter (@B1GWBBall), Facebook (/Big Ten Conference), Snapchat (@BigTenConf) and Instagram (@BigTen). Here’s a breakdown of which days the interviews and profiles will be posted (videos will be posted beginning at noon ET each day at 15-minute intervals and in alphabetical order by school):
Tuesday, Oct. 24 – Big Ten coaches video interviews
Wednesday, Oct. 25 – Big Ten student profiles
Thursday, Oct. 26 – Big Ten student video interviews
On Friday (Oct. 27), from 10 a.m.-noon (ET), the Big Ten will hold a preseason media teleconference with all 14 head coaches. Audio playback of that teleconference will be available on the women’s basketball page at bigten.org later that day. Media members wishing to participate on the teleconference should contact Big Ten Associate Director of Communications Chris Masters to receive the call-in information and passcode.
The second annual Big Ten Women’s Basketball Week concludes on Monday. Oct. 30, with a 2017-18 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Season Preview video, as well as information on how fans can purchase tickets for the 2018 Big Ten Tournament, scheduled for Feb. 28-March 4 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Along with Big Ten Women’s Basketball Week, the conference is once again proud to collaborate with BTN on the network’s 2017-18 BTN Women’s Basketball Season Preview that is tentatively scheduled to be broadcast at 3 p.m. (ET) on Monday, Nov. 6. This BTN special presentation, which also can be seen on BTN2Go, will feature interviews, highlights and analysis on all 14 Big Ten programs heading into the season. In addition to its debut broadcast on Nov. 6, the BTN Women’s Basketball Season Preview will re-air several times during the ensuing week, with tentative re-air dates/times as follows (all times Eastern and subject to change):

Tuesday, Nov. 7 – 2:30 a.m., 8 a.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 8 – 7 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 9 – 4 p.m.

Big Ten schools make their 2017-18 regular season debut on Nov. 10, with the 16-game conference slate tipping off Dec. 28 and concluding Feb. 25. For the fourth consecutive season, every Big Ten game will be produced and distributed live on BTN, BTN Plus or an ESPN network.
