PARK RIDGE, Ill. - The Big Ten is one of six conferences to be featured in the first national women's basketball podcast, "Shootaround with Beth and Debbie," the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced on Thursday.

Hosted by Beth Mowins and Debbie Antonelli, the first installment of "Shootaround" previews six conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-10, SEC). Beginning on Nov. 14, the podcast will air weekly on Wednesdays at Noon ET on the WBCA's web site, www.wbca.org.

"Shootaround with Beth and Debbie" is a ground-breaking podcast committed to talking about women's basketball every week on the national level. The goal of the podcast is to create awareness of women's basketball and to grow the game. "Shootaround" is a podcast designed like a sports talk-radio show, featuring insightful commentary, news and interviews from the highly-respected announcing tandem, Beth Mowins and Debbie Antonelli. Mowins and Antonelli cover over 100 women's basketball games a year in leagues across the country.

Big Ten women's basketball opens on Friday, Nov. 9, with seven teams in action, including Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern and Penn State at home. Ohio State (No. 16), Michigan State (No. 18) and Purdue (No. 20) were all ranked in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll, released on Wednesday, while Wisconsin and Minnesota each received votes outside the top 25.

The 2007-08 Big Ten women's basketball season will feature more national and regional television coverage than ever before with 65 regular-season games set to air on CBS, the Big Ten Network, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN360.com and FSN.
