Big Ten Featured in National Women's Basketball Podcast

Shootaround with Beth and Debbie Fact Sheet PARK RIDGE, Ill. - Big Ten women's basketball is one of eight conferences previewed in the second season of the first-ever national women's college basketball podcast, "Shootaround with Beth and Debbie," the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced on Wednesday. Hosted by the highly-respected tandem of Beth Mowins and Debbie Antonelli, the podcast provides in-depth coverage of women's basketball every week on the national level in order to create awareness of women's basketball and grow the game. Designed like a sports talk-radio show, the podcast will feature insightful commentary, news, interviews, trivia and much more. In its inaugural campaign last season, "Shootaround with Beth and Debbie" recorded a total of 176,675 hits and downloads during its shows from January through May. The Big Ten conference preview, as well as weekly "Shootaround" shows, can be found on the WBCA's website, WBCA.org. The conference previews launched Wednesday, while the 30-minute weekly shows will be available every Wednesday at Noon ET beginning on Nov. 19. The Big Ten preview can be found at http://wbca.org/Archive.asp. Big Ten women's basketball opens its season on Friday, Nov. 14, with six teams in action. By Monday, Nov. 17, all 11 teams will have played at least one game. The 2008-09 season of Big Ten women's basketball features more exposure than ever before with over 100 games scheduled to be produced and distributed nationally.
