Stephany Skrba, Michigan
FR, 6-3, F/C, Richmond Hill, Ontario/Lanstaff Secondary School

Skrba earns the first Big Ten Player of the Week award of the season after posting impressive numbers in her first two career games as a Wolverine this past weekend. Coming off the bench in her U-M debut, Skrba scored eight points and collected four rebounds in the Wolverines' 65-48 loss to No. 21/20 Temple on Friday.  She then guided Michigan to its first win of the season the next day with game-high totals of 19 points, eight rebounds and three steals as a starter against Saint Francis (Pa.).  Skrba was the lone Michigan player named to the Women's Sports Foundation All-Tournament team after averaging 13.5 points and six rebounds during U-M's two games. She also shot 9-of-10 from the free throw line over the weekend and was 9-of-17 from the floor in nearly 27 minutes of play.

Skrba is only the second freshman to receive Big Ten Player of the Week since the 2000-01 season.  Purdue's Natasha Bogdanova earned the honor last year on Nov. 22.
