Broback earns the first Big Ten Player of the Week award of the 2004-05 season, after her career performance at the WBCA/BTI Classic.  In her first start of her career, the Minnesota sophomore scored a career-high 28 points in leading the Golden Gophers to a 77-69 victory over UNLV on Sunday.  Broback scored 10 of Minnesota's first 12 points and had already surpassed her previous career high of 13 points just 10 minutes into the game.  She was 8-of-14 (.571) from the field and was solid from the charity stripe, connecting on 11-of-15 (.733) free throws.  Broback also added seven rebounds and two steals against the Lady Rebels.

This is the first Big Ten Player of the Week selection for Broback in her young career.

Minnesota, ranked 14th in both the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches Poll, finishes up play at the WBCA/BTI Classic Monday evening against Washington.
