Through Tuesday, the Big Ten will highlight each of the 24 student-athletes nominated for the conference's Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced next week.

Jessica Barnett - Iowa - Field Hockey
A two-time All-American and first team All-Big Ten selection, Barnett led the Hawkeyes to a 14-7 record and an NCAA Championship berth last season as a team captain. The senior was also selected to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) West Regional All-America Team and Big Ten All-Tournament Team. She started all 21 games, tallying 24 points, including 10 goals, and recorded two defensive saves during conference play. Barnett is also a three-time team most valuable player.
