Big Ten Field Hockey Opens 2017 Season

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The 2017 Big Ten field hockey season gets underway this weekend, with Indiana, Michigan State, Penn State and Rutgers opening Friday, while Iowa, Michigan and Northwestern start Saturday. Maryland and Ohio State will take the field in season-opening action on Sunday.

On Friday, Indiana travels to No. 9 Louisville while Michigan State opens the season at No. 25 Pacific. Seventh-ranked Penn State will hit the road to take on No. 23 Old Dominion, while Rutgers welcomes Kent State.

Saturday's slate will see No. 17 Iowa and No. 11 Michigan play host to No. 15 Wake Forest and top-ranked North Carolina, respectively. No. 14 Northwestern opens the 2017 campaign at No. 13 Stanford. No. 6 Maryland and Ohio State begin their season Sunday, with the Terrapins welcoming Saint Joseph's and the Buckeyes traveling to Lehigh.
