McCurdy helped lead the No. 5 Hawkeyes to a win over top-ranked North Carolina on Sunday, which ended a 25-game win streak for the defending national champion Tar Heels.  In the win, McCurdy scored two goals, including the game winner in the 68th minute of the contest.  In Iowa's loss to No. 3 Wake Forest on Saturday, McCurdy notched her first goal of the year.  This is McCurdy's fourth career weekly laurel.

Defensive Player of the Week
Lindsay Quintiliani, Ohio State

Quintiliani posted her first shutout of the year in Ohio State's 2-0 opening win over Kent State on Sunday.  The shutout was the seventh of her career, tying her for seventh on OSU's all-time list.  It was the first time since 1998 that the Buckeyes opened the season by not relinquishing a goal to their opponents.  The Mountain Top, Pa., native played all 70 minutes and saved a shot behind her defense.  This is Quintiliani's   second career weekly accolade.
