Michigan's Rachael Mack earns Offensive Player and Co-Freshman of the Week Awards.

Park Ridge, Ill. - The conference office announced on Monday the third weekly field hockey award winners for the 2010 season. Following a two-win weekend, Michigan earned weekly honors with Rachael Mack winning Offensive Player of the Week. Continuing an undefeated season, Michigan State's Molly Cassidy earned her second weekly award, winning Defensive Player of the Week. Mack and Cassidy shared Freshman of the Week honors.

Offensive Player of the Week
Rachael Mack - Michigan

Rachael Mack helped the Wolverines to wins over No. 14 James Madison and Central Michigan on the weekend. Down 3-0 to James Madison, Mack scored on back-to-back direct penalty corners from Eileen Brandes and Paige Laytos to trim the lead to one goal. Then in the overtime session, Mack fed Meredith Way for the game-winning goal. In the 4-0 win over Central Michigan, Mack scored the team's third goal of the game off an assist from Alicia Mayer. On the season, the freshman leads the Wolverines with seven points and is tied for the team lead with three goals.

Molly Cassidy earns her second Defensive Player of the Week award after recording a 14-save victory over No. 20 Stanford on Monday as the Spartans completed a sweep on their west-coast trip. Cassidy then picked up a pair of shutouts over the weekend against Providence and James Madison, her second and third of the season. Three of her shutouts have been by 1-0 scores, and two have come over ranked opponents in No. 12 James Madison and No. 10 Duke.
