Park Ridge, Ill. - The conference office announced on Monday the weekly field hockey award winners for the 2010 season. This week, Michigan's Alicia Mayer was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Penn State's Ayla Halus was named Defensive Player of the Week. Michigan's Rachael Mack earns her second consecutive weekly award as she was named Freshman of the Week.

Alicia Mayer earns her first career laurel after having a hand in six of Michigan's 10 goals this weekend, helping the Wolverines to wins over No. 19 Albany and Quinnipiac. In the 4-3 overtime win over the Great Danes, Mayer scored her second and third goals of the season, giving Michigan a 2-0 lead. She also had the game winning assist to Katie Adams in double-overtime to seal the win. On Sunday, Mayer scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute of the 6-0 victory over Quinnipiac with an unassisted goal at 39:32. Mayer now leads her team with 14 points and is tied with Rachael Mack for the team lead with five goals.

Ayla Halus earns her second weekly award after she turned in a perfect week in goal. Halus pitched a week-long shutout in Penn State's three victories over Lafayette, Temple and West Chester. Halus deferred all six shots she faced in a 3-0 victory over Lafayette on Wednesday, including a sequence of three straight saves off a penalty corner late in the game. Halus then delivered her second shutout of the week in the Nittany Lions' victory against Temple on Saturday. Halus capped off the week with her fifth scoreless half against West Chester on Sunday. She made four saves in Penn State's 3-1 victory over the Golden Rams. The Hershey, Pa., native made 13 saves with zero goals allowed during the week.

Rachael Mack wins her second weekly honor of the season after extending her goal-scoring streak to four games in wins over No. 19 Albany and Quinnipiac this past weekend. Mack broke a 2-2 tie in the second half against the Great Danes with a one-timer past Albany goalie Kristi Troch. She then scored her fifth goal of the season with a rip off a pass from Paige Laytos. Mack is now tied for team lead in goals and is second in points.
