Offensive Player of the Week
Jeamie Deacon, Michigan State
Fr., B, Wexford, Ireland/Newtown School Waterford
Deacon picks up her second Player of the Week award this season after her seven-point weekend, helping lead the Spartans to wins over conference foe Northwestern and New Hampshire. The Wexford, Ireland, native scored both of her goals off penalty shots. In the 4-0 win over Northwestern, Deacon had a goal and an assist. On Sunday, the freshman scored her second goal of the weekend and added two assists in the 6-0 rout of New Hampshire. Deacon collects the second weekly laurel of her career.

Defensive Player of the Week
Paige Laytos, Michigan
So., M, Lititz, Pa./Warwick
Laytos played a major role in No. 12 Michigan's upsets over No. 3 Iowa and No. 7 Penn State in Ann Arbor over the weekend. The Lititz, Pa., native, scored a goal in the 3-2 overtime win against Iowa on Friday and aided the Wolverine defense in not allowing any second-half shots or penalty corners. On Sunday, Laytos again led the charge as the Wolverines held the Nittany Lions to no second-half shots or penalty corners in the 1-0 shutout win. Laytos earns defensive player accolades for the second straight season after also being honored on Oct. 9, 2006.
