Offensive Player of the Week
Kate O'Connell, Indiana
Jr., F, St. Louis, Mo./Lafayette
O'Connell picks up her first Offensive Player of the Week laurel after leading the Hoosiers to wins over Iowa and Ohio State last weekend. O'Connell had a hand in every Hoosier score, closing out the week with three goals and one assist. In a 2-1 victory over the Hawkeyes, the junior forward connected on both of her shots, including the game winner. Against No. 5 Ohio State, O'Connell notched Indiana's first goal and then assisted on Morgan Miller's game winner to give the Buckeyes their first loss of the 2006 season. Indiana has now registered a school-record 11 straight wins, including three over conference foes.

Defensive Player of the Week
Haley Exner, Indiana
Jr., GK, San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch
Exner claims Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week accolades after recording 18 saves and helping the Hoosiers to two Big Ten victories last weekend. In a 2-1 victory over Iowa, the junior goalkeeper held the Hawkeyes scoreless until the 67th minute, while recording seven saves. Exner then tallied a season-high 11 saves against No. 5 Ohio State. Despite threatening offensively throughout the majority of the game, the Buckeyes were only able to slip one goal past Exner as the Hoosiers held on for the 2-1 win. The San Diego, Calif., native claims her fourth weekly laurel as she was also honored three times during the 2005 season (Sept. 12, Oct. 3 and Oct. 17).
