Lauren Pfeiffer, Iowa

Pfeiffer put away three goals over the weekend on 11 shots as the Hawkeyes defeated Northwestern and Providence. On Friday, Pfeiffer scored twice as Iowa defeated conference foe Northwestern, 5-1. The Mt. Laurel, N.J., native added a goal and an assist in the Hawkeyes' 3-1 win over Providence on Saturday. Pfeiffer has scored eight goals in the past five games and has 12 goals on the season. This is the first weekly honor of her career.

Defensive Player of the Week
Jen Long, Penn State
Jr., B/M, Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East
Long's defensive play helped Penn State hold No. 20 Syracuse and Indiana to one combined goal last week. Playing every minute of the game, Long helped the Nittany Lions hold the Orange to one goal in a 3-1 win on Wednesday. On Sunday, the Doylestown, Pa. native blocked two shots off Indiana penalty corners en route to a 2-0 win over the Hoosiers. Long picks up the second weekly laurel of her career (10/16/06).
