Senior forward Mikac led the Buckeye offense in a 2-0 upset of No. 8 Iowa Sunday in Iowa City. The co-captain set up Ohio State’s goal in the first half, finding Rachel Hunter on the breakaway in the first half. The Upper Arlington, Ohio, native then sealed the win with a last-minute goal. It was her 10th goal of the season and she increased her points total to 22, ranking second on her team in both categories. This is her first career weekly honor.

Defensive Player of the Week
Ally Tunitis, Ohio State

Freshman Tunitis started the second and third games of her career this week and stopped eight of nine shots to lead Ohio State to two wins. She made four saves in a 3-1 victory at home Wednesday against Miami (Ohio). Tunitis followed that with her second-consecutive shutout on the road against a Big Ten opponent. She handed No. 8 Iowa its first shutout of the season in a 2-0 upset Sunday, stopping all four shots faced. In her three starts, the Macungie, Pa., native has led the Buckeyes to three wins and stopped 10 of 11 shots faced for a .909 save percentage and a 0.33 goals-against average. This is the first career weekly laurel for Tunitis.
