Park Ridge, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced the winners of the weekly field hockey awards on Monday. Northwestern's Chelsea Armstrong won Offensive Player of the Week, Penn State's Ayla Halus won Defensive Player of the Week honors and Ohio State's Paula Pastor-Pitarque won Freshman of the Week.

Northwestern's Chelsea Armstrong earns her fourth Offensive Player of the Week honor and seventh weekly award of her career. Armstrong recorded her second four-goal effort of the year and third of her career Sunday as Northwestern defeated Iowa, 4-2. The sophomore, who took seven shots, scored three goals off penalty corners and a fourth on a deflection to raise her Big Ten-leading totals to 23 goals and 57 points. For her career, Armstrong is now fifth in school history in both goals and points at 45 and 113, respectively.

Defensive Player of the Week
Ayla Halus - Penn State
G - So. - Hershey, Pa. - Hershey

Sophomore goalkeeper Ayla Halus earns the fourth weekly honor of her career after she allowed just one goal during her 198:28 minutes in the cage, including 140 shutout minutes against No. 17 Duke and No. 5 Princeton. Halus posted nine saves and recorded the first shutout by an opponent against the Tigers this season. Overall, the Hershey, Pa., native has allowed one goal or less in 10 games this year, including five shutouts.

Freshman Player of the Week
Paula Pastor-Pitarque - Ohio State

Pastor-Pitarque wins her second Freshman of the Week award after helping the Buckeyes to wins over No. 12 Michigan and UC Davis last weekend with a goal and an assist. Following an assist to put Ohio State ahead of the Wolverines, 1-0, Pastor-Pitarque picked up her fifth goal of the year in the final 10 minutes of the game. Her three points against Michigan marked the second three-point game of her career. During Ohio State's current seven-game win streak, the Barcelona, Spain, native has had 12 points on four goals and four assists.
