The fifth-ranked Ohio State field hockey team defeated Michigan State, 4-3, in double overtime Saturday at North Turf Field in its final regular-season game to clinch at least a share of the Big Ten regular-season championship. Senior Saskia Mueller scored the game-winning goal 4:22 into the second overtime session to lift Ohio State to a 5-1 record in conference games and 14-2 overall. The Buckeyes would win the conference title outright with a Penn State loss Sunday.

The win secures the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye for the Buckeyes in the 2006 Big Ten Tournament. Even with a tie for the regular-season title, Ohio State holds the tiebreaker with Penn State because of a 4-3 overtime win earlier this season in Columbus. Full Story
