Offensive Player of the Week

Jantine Steinmetz, Michigan State

Steinmetz led the Spartans in the final Big Ten regular season game over previously unbeaten Penn State, 2-1, recording the game-winning goal with 26 seconds remaining in regulation. On Sunday, the Amstelveen, Netherlands, native added helpers on both of Michigan State’s goals in a 2-0 win over Central Michigan.  The sophomore forward collects the third weekly laurel of her career and first this season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Meghan Beamesderfer, Iowa
Jr., B, Lititz, Pa./Warwick

Beamesderfer led the Hawkeye defense Sunday in a 3-0 shutout victory over conference foe Michigan. The Litiz, Pa., native had one assist and played every minute of the contest. The junior back guided an Iowa defense that stymied the Wolverine offense, allowing only two shots and two penalty corners all game. This is the third career weekly accolade for Beamesderfer and second of the season.
