After upsetting the No. 5 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels the day before to advance to the elite eight of the NCAA Tournament, the Indiana field hockey team dropped a hard battle to the three-time defending national champion Demon Deacons, 5-0, on Sunday at Wake Forest's Kentner Stadium. Michigan 2, Old Dominion 3
The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan field hockey team could not overcome a pair of early second-half tallies by No. 3 Old Dominion as the Wolverines fell 3-2 in the NCAA quarterfinal round on Sunday (Nov. 13) at Ohio State's North Turf Field.

Despite being outshot 16-6 and outcornered 6-4, the Wolverines hung in the game until the final buzzer as the two teams continued to move the ball back and forth across the field. Two quick Lady Monarch goals early in the second half played the deciding factor in the contest, giving ODU what proved to be an insurmountable two-goal advantage. Both goals came off penalty corner opportunities with Katelyn Smither scoring the game-winner at the 42:23 mark following a scrum in front of the U-M cage. Full Story
