Regional Coach of the Year

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State’s Char Morett-Curtiss was named the 2016 Front Rush/NFHCA Collegiate Regional Coach of the Year (NFHCA) for the Midwest region Mid-Atlantic the NFHCA announced Thursday.

Morett-Curtiss led the Nittany Lions to a 14-2 record and an 8-2 mark in conference play. The Nittany Lions led the league in goals (71) and goals per game (4.44) en route to a No. 6 RPI ranking. Morett-Curtis helped Penn State to claim the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

Morett-Curtiss was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year for the sixth time and led the Nittany Lions to the conference’s tournament title with a 2-1 win over host and top seed Maryland in the championship on Nov. 6. Penn State captured the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship.
