Big Ten Women's Golf Opens Spring Slate This Weekend

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The 2018 Big Ten women's golf spring season gets underway on Sunday, with Penn State and Wisconsin teeing off at the UCF Challenge. The remaining 12 conference teams will begin their competitive seasons in the coming weeks.

The UCF Challenge will run from Sunday through next Tuesday at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.

Michigan State and Minnesota will begin their spring seasons at the Seminole Match-Up in Tallahassee, Fla., from Feb. 9-11. Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska and Purdue will travel to the Lady Puerto Rico Classic from Feb. 11-13, while Northwestern and Ohio State will play in the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif., from Feb. 11-13.

Rutgers will open its spring season at the Moon Invitational in Louisville, Ky., from Feb. 19-20. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State and Wisconsin will compete in the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz., from Feb. 25-26, while Purdue will travel to The Woodlands, Texas, for The Dickson from Feb. 26-27.

Five Big Ten teams begin the spring season ranked among the top 30 in the Golfweek Women's Team Collegiate Rankings. Michigan State leads the way at No. 11, followed by No. 13 Northwestern, No. 15 Illinois, No. 19 Purdue and No. 28 Wisconsin.
