Big Ten Golfer of the Week:
Teresa Puga, Minnesota
Jr. - A Coruña, Spain - Blume
Junior Teresa Puga collected her third top-10 finish of the season by finishing in a tie for fifth at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic last week. The A Coruña, Spain native, carded a third-round score of 71 after posting consecutive rounds of 74 to compile a three-over 219 mark. The 54-hole mark ties Puga for the fifth-lowest individual score in Minnesota history and is one stroke shy of her career-low. She leads the Gophers with a 75.13 stroke average this season in five tournaments and also boasts a career average of 76.37, which is currently the lowest in program history. This is the first Big Ten Golfer of the Week selection for Puga’s career and the first for a Gopher golfer since March 2005.
Last Minnesota Golfer of the Week: Terra Petsinger (March 24, 2005)
