Amy Meier, Ohio State
Fr. - Rochester Hills, Mich. - Rochester
Freshman Amy Meier earns her first Big Ten Golfer of the Week award after leading Ohio State to a second-place finish at the Kinderlou Forest Challenge. For the second-consecutive tournament, Meier was the top finisher for the Buckeyes, carding a three-over 222 to finish in a tie for seventh place at the two-day, 54-hole event. After opening with a 79 on Monday, the Rochester Hills, Mich., native birdied five of six holes to card a 70 in the second round, which tied for the low round of the tournament. On the final day of competition, Meier secured her first career top-10 finish with a solid final round of even-par 73 that included four birdies to offset four bogies.
