JR, Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll

Meikle earns her first career Golfer of the Week honor after setting a school record for a 54-hole event at the Northwestern Invitational on April 4.  The Spartan junior shot a three-round total of 6-under-par 210 (70-70-70) to finish just one stroke off the lead on the par-72, 6,238-yard, Gary Player Signature Course in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Her score shattered the 54-hole record previously held by Emily Bastel, who fired a 214 (69-74-71) at the 2002 USF Waterlefe Invitational. Meikle's third-place finish is the second top-five finish of her career, while her rounds of 70 marked her career lows at Michigan State.
