Conference Teams Complete Day 2 at NCAA Regional Championships

Day 2 of competition is complete for the five Big Ten women's golf teams competing in NCAA Regional Championships at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Ind. Purdue sits in fifth place in the Central Regional after firing a 320 today for a two-round score of 623. The Boilermakers are 20 strokes back of first-place Southern California. Michigan State is tied for eighth, one stroke out of seventh with a team score of 626 (310-316). Northwestern is 15th standing at 67-over par and Indiana is tied for 17th at 70-over par. Individually, Purdue's Thea Hoffmeister is tied for ninth with a two-round score of 151, seven-over par. Michigan State's Aimee Neff is tied for 17th with a 10-over 154. In the West Regional in Stanford, Calif., Ohio State is in 13th place after rounds of 296 and 307 for a 35-over par 603. Rachel Rohanna and Vicky Villanueva pace the Buckeyes tied for 28th with an eight-over par 150. The top eight teams in each Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships May 18-21 in Wilmington, N.C. The final round of Regionals will tee off on Saturday at 8 a.m.
