The 2013-14 Big Ten women's golf season officially begins this weekend with five conference teams taking to the course for the first competition of the fall.
Penn State and Wisconsin will head to Charleston, S.C., for the Cougar Classic from Sunday through Tuesday. Nebraska welcomes a 13-team field, including conference foe Iowa, to the Chip-N-Club Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, while Illinois will participate in the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo.
Indiana, Michigan State, Northwestern and Ohio State will open their respective seasons at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich., Sept 14-15, while Minnesota hosts the Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., from Sept. 16-17.
Michigan is set to compete in the Mercedez-Benz Collegiate Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., from Sept. 20-22, while Purdue opens its fall season at the Windy City Classic in Highland Park, Ill., Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
