ROSEMONT, Ill. – The 2015 Big Ten women’s gymnastics season is set to begin this weekend, with all 10 conference teams in action. Competition begins on Friday with Iowa competing at No. 3 LSU, Maryland hosting West Virginia and George Washington, No. 9 Nebraska facing Lindenwood and No. 18 Ohio State traveling to Pittsburgh.
On Saturday, No. 8 Michigan will open its campaign at No. 7 Georgia, Michigan State will take on Bowling Green, No. 17 Minnesota will welcome No. 25 Iowa State, and Rutgers will travel to No. 16 Penn State, along with Cornell and New Hampshire. Illinois, ranked No. 15, will begin its season at Central Michigan on Sunday.
Heading into the season, six conference teams are ranked in the GymInfo Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Michigan won the 2014 Big Ten Women’s Gymnastics Championships title, while Minnesota and Nebraska shared the regular season championship. The 2015 Big Ten Championships will be held in Ann Arbor, Mich., on March 21.
