Michigan and Minnesota Earn Women's Gymnastics Weekly Honors

Gymnast of the Week Kylee Botterman collects her second straight Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor after earning four first-place finishes, including top honors in the all-around, to send Michigan to a tri-meet win over No. 21 Illinois and Penn State on Friday. Botterman began her night with a top score of 9.975 on the vault, marking the highest score in the country in 2011. She also took first on the balance beam and floor exercise, turning in a 9.875 in each event, and posted a 9.825 on the bars en route to a third-place finish. Botterman's all-around score of 39.550 tied the highest total in the country this season, and her all-around average of 39.475 leads the nation. Last Michigan Gymnast of the Week: Kylee Botterman (Jan. 10, 2011) Freshman of the Week Minnesota's Dusti Russell earns the first Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor in program history after helping the Golden Gophers to a dual win over No. 18 Iowa on Saturday. Russell finished third in the all-around with a score of 38.925 after finishing first in the floor exercise (9.875) and second on the balance beam (9.825).
