CLEVELAND - The 2011 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships concluded on Sunday with the individual event finals taking place in Cleveland's Wolstein Center. Four Big Ten gymnasts placed in the top six of their respective events, with Michigan's Kylee Botterman tying for second place in the floor exercise to mark the highest finish of the conference competitors.
Botterman notched a 9.900 in the floor exercise en route to a tie for second. She also posted top-10 finishes on the balance beam (seventh, 9.825) and vault (T-ninth, 9.788). Teammates Brittnee Martinez and Trish Wilson tied for sixth on the parallel bars with scores of 9.850. Illinois' Melissa Fernandez also posted a top-five finish, tying for fifth on the beam with a mark of 9.838. Michigan's Katie Zurales placed 13th on the vault (9.731) to round out the contingent of competing Big Ten gymnasts.
