Walter earns the first Athlete of the Week laurel of the season after a dominating performance in the mile at the Jack Harvey Invitational on Saturday. The junior/sophomore set a personal best, finishing first with a time of 4:51.54, and falling just 3.94 seconds shy of the NCAA provisional qualifying standard. This was Walter's first indoor meet since 2003. The Beverly Hills, Mich. native is coming off a strong fall season, as she was named the 2004 Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Athlete of the Year after leading the Wolverines to the regional title.
