Athlete of the Week

Roehrig earns Athlete of the Week honors after shattering the Golden Gophers' school record in the pentathlon with 3,891 points as she finished runner-up in the gold division of the Northern Iowa Invitational on Friday.  In her first-ever pentathlon competition, the freshman tied for first in the high jump, clearing 5-10.5 and picked up two third place finishes in the long jump (18-10.75) and shot put (39-6.5).  The Chilton, Wis., native also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with her overall performance and her high jump mark. 

Roehrig is the first Gopher to be named indoor Athlete of the Week since Shani Marks on Jan. 14, 2003.
