Alena Brooks, Minnesota
Sr. – Diego Martin, Trinidad – Diego Martin Government Secondary

  • Placed second overall and first among collegians in the 800-meter run (2:06.24) at the Meyo Invitational
  • Her 800-meter time ranks first in the Big Ten and sixth in the NCAA this season
  • Recorded a first-place finish in the distance medley relay (11:28.31)
  • Earns the first indoor track and field award of her career

Field Athlete of the Week
Mara Griva, Nebraska
Sr. – Ventspils, Latvia – Ventspils University College 

  • Placed first in the long jump (6.21 meters) and second in the triple jump (12.93) at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational
  • Both marks rank first in the conference, while her triple jump and long jump efforts are eighth and ninth in the nation, respectively, this season
  • Earns the first indoor track and field award of her career
