Athlete of the Week
Jennifer Leatherman, Penn State
SR, Yellville, Ark./Rolla

Leatherman recorded two NCAA qualifying marks as well as finishing first in two throwing events at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup last weekend. Her distance of 71'6 1/4" was good enough to claim the 20-pound weight throw competition and automatically qualify her for the NCAA championships. She currently ranks first in the Big Ten in the event. The senior went on to notch another first-place finish, tossing the shot put in a provisional, 53'5" fashion. Leatherman sits at No. 2 in the league shot put standings. The Yellville, Ark., native has now been named Athlete of the Week twice during her indoor collegiate career, both honors coming in the 2006 season.
