Purdue and Minnesota Earn Conference Recognition

The conference office announced on Monday the weekly women's indoor track and field awards with Purdue's Ebony Woodard earning Track Athlete of the Week honors and Minnesota's Samantha Sonnenberg winning Field Athlete of the Week accolades.
Track Athlete of the Week
Ebony Woodard earned a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash last weekend as Purdue hosted the Boilermaker Invitational. The freshman clocked a career-best time of 24.95 to win the event, making it a top-15 finish in the Big Ten. Woodard's award marks the first time since the 2002 season the Boilermakers have taken home the honor.

Field Athlete of the Week
Minnesota's Samantha Sonnenberg earns her second consecutive weekly award after taking home first place in the pole vault last weekend at the Parents Day Open. Sonnenberg's vault of 13-11 ¼ inches is a season-best and currently leads the Big Ten. The senior's mark is among the top-10 in NCAA Division I this season, ranking at No. 9.
