Nebraska Leads After Day One of Big Ten Championships

Nebraska owns the lead after Day 1 of the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday. The Huskers won two events on Friday, including Jessica Furlan in the 3,000-meter run (9:19.66) and Mara Griva in the long jump (6.32 meters), totaling 50 points. Wisconsin sits in second with 32 points, and Michigan is third with 31 points.
Illinois' Stephanie Richartz won the pole vault (4.25 meters), while Indiana's Kyla Buckley took home the shot put crown (16.90 meters), and Wisconsin's Jessica Flax won the pentathlon (4078). Michigan's team of Shannon Osika, Meg Bellino, Jillian Smith and Rebecca Addison took home the distance medley relay event (11:11.41).
Competition resumes at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday.
