2009 Big Ten Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Big Ten and Individual Honors

In conclusion to the 2009 Big Ten Women's Indoor Track and Field season, the Conference has awarded the following individuals with Big Ten honors and individual awards: Track Athlete of the Year Field Athlete of the Year Freshman of the Year Track Athlete of the Championships Field Athlete of the Championships Coach of the Year First Team All-Big Ten Second Team All-Big Ten
The Big Ten Conference office honors an individual from each team with the Sportsmanship Award. The student-athletes chosen were individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. In addition, the student-athletes must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Honorees for women's indoor track and field are, Illinois's Angela Bizzarri, Indiana's Kristen Crawford, Iowa's Bethany Praska, Michigan's Casey Taylor, Michigan State's Lisa Senakiwich, Minnesota's Ladia Albertson-Junkans, Ohio State's Alana Gray, Penn State's Emma Schmelzer, Purdue's Kristin Phillips and Wisconsin's Trina Dusso. These eleven student-athletes are now candidates for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, as the conference office will honor one male and one female student-athlete from each institution at the end of the school year. |
