Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Charelise Davis, Michigan State
So., Pittsburgh, Pa. / Oakland Catholic

Davis blazed the 60-meter straightaway at the Michigan State Invitational last Friday in a new personal-best time of 7.63 sec.  The sophomore took home first-place honors for her dash performance and becomes the school's first-ever Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.  Davis is awarded her first career weekly Big Ten laurel. 

Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Becca Buchholtz, Michigan State
Fr., East Troy, Wis. / East Troy

In her collegiate debut, Buchholtz claimed the pentathlon title last Friday at the Michigan State Invitational.  The freshman finished first in four of the five events, earning personal-bests in the shot put and the 60-meter hurdles.  Her score of 3,515 was nearly 150 points better than the second-place finisher.  Buchholtz earns her first career Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award.
