Offensive Player of the Week
Steph Lazo, Penn State
Sr. – A – Stevensville, Md. – St. Mary’s

  • Tallied a career high 12 points in the season-opening win vs. Albany
  • Scored five goals to tie her career high, finding the back of the net on 71.4% of her shots
  • Dished out a team high seven assists to lead the Nittany Lions to a 20-9 victory
  • This is Lazo’s third career Offensive Player of the Week honor
  • Last Penn State Offensive Player of the Week: Madison Carter (March 15, 2016)


Defensive Player of the Week
Mallory Weisse, Northwestern
So. – GK – Westfield, N.J. - Westfield

  • Recorded 16 saves in Northwestern’s two wins to open the season
  • Started the season by allowing just seven goals to go along with six saves in a 9-7 win vs. Canisius
  • Followed that effort with a double-digit save performance in a road win against No. 8 Notre Dame
  • She reached double-digit saves for the ninth time in her career, including four of her last six games
  • Earns her second Defensive Player of the Week plaudit in as many seasons

Freshman of the Week
Liza Hernandez, Ohio State
Fr. – M – New Albany, Ohio – New Albany

  • Posted three goals and added one assist in her collegiate debut to help the Buckeyes defeat Vermont, 13-9
  • Notched two consecutive goals in the second half to help extend Ohio State’s lead from one goal to three
  • Also added a draw control and a ground ball to round out her first career game
  • Last Ohio State Freshman of the Week: Baley Parrott (Feb. 16, 2016)
