Offensive Player of the Week
Steph Lazo, Penn State
Sr. – A – Stevensville, Md. – St. Mary’s

  • Led the Nittany Lions to a top-20 victory vs. Towson with five goals on only six shots
  • Handed out one assist, bringing her season totals to 10 goals and eight assists through two games
  • This is the second consecutive and fourth career Offensive Player of the Week honor for the senior
  • Last Penn State Offensive Player of the Week: Steph Lazo (Feb. 7, 2017)


Defensive Player of the Week
Megan Taylor, Maryland
So. – GK – Glenelg, Md. – Glenelg

  • Allowed just three goals in Maryland’s season-opening road win vs. William & Mary
  • Notched eight saves and also caused two turnovers to go along with three ground balls
  • Held the opponents scoreless for a 46-minute stretch of the game
  • Earns the second Defensive Player of the Week plaudit of her career
  • Last Maryland Defensive Player of the Week: Alice Mercer (April 26, 2016)


Freshman of the Week
Liza Hernandez, Ohio State
Fr. – M – New Albany, Ohio – New Albany


 

 

  • Tallied three goals and one assist for the second-consecutive game to start her collegiate career
  • Each of her goals came in the second stanza, including a goal with under five minutes remaining to knot the score at 12
  • Also added a draw control, helping to lead the Buckeyes to a 13-12 road win at Jacksonville
