Penn State, Ohio State and Maryland Earn Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors

Offensive Player of the Week
Steph Lazo, Penn State
Jr. – A – Stevensville, Md. – St. Mary’s

• Scored five goals and added four assists en route to nine total points in the Nittany Lions’ wins against nationally ranked Johns Hopkins and Loyola (Md.)
• Scored a goal, tallied a pair of assists, caused two turnovers and scooped up a pair of ground balls against the Blue Jays
• Recorded a season-high six points with four goals and two assists versus Loyola
• Earns her second career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor

Defensive Player of the Week
Katie Frederick, Ohio State
Sr. – GK – Yorktown, N.Y. – Yorktown

• Tallied 14 saves in the cage in the Buckeyes’ 8-7 win over nationally ranked Johns Hopkins
• Recorded 11 saves in the first half as the Blue Jays attempted 20 shots
• Currently ranks second in the Big Ten with 7.00 saves per game
• A 2013-14 and 2014-15 Academic All-Big Ten selection, she earns her first career Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor
• Last Ohio State Defensive Player of the Week: Tori DeScenza (Feb. 2, 2015)

Freshman of the Week
Jen Giles, Maryland
M – Ellicott City, Md. – Mt. Hebron

• Scored two goals and added an assist in the Terrapins’ win over Hofstra
• Both goals came on free positions
• Recorded her first career multi-goal game
• Earns her first career Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor
