Offensive Player of the Week
Steph Lazo, Penn State
Sr. – A – Stevensville, Md. – St. Mary’s

  • Tallied three goals and added six assists for a nine-point performance in the conference-opening win vs. Rutgers
  • The six assists move her to ninth on the Nittany Lions’ all-time list with 72 in her career
  • Currently sits atop the conference’s statistical leaders chart in points (51) and assists (26), and is fourth nationally with 5.63 points per game
  • This is Lazo’s third Offensive Player of the Week award this season, and the fifth of her career

Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Emily Kift, Maryland
Sr. – GK – Santa Ana, Calif. - Foothill

  • Recorded a career-high 10 saves in her first start of the season, leading Maryland to a 17-4 conference win
  • Held Johns Hopkins to just four goals, more than seven below their season average
  • Ended the contest with a .714 save percentage in her first full game played as a Terp
  • This is the fourth Defensive Player of the Week award for Taylor this season and in her career
  • Last Maryland Defensive Player of the Week: Megan Taylor (March 14, 2017)

 

 


Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Mira Shane, Michigan
So. – GK – Princeton, N.J. – Princeton

  • Led the Wolverines to their first two wins of the season, including the program’s first-ever conference win vs. Ohio State
  • Came off the bench in both games to make 11 combined saves while only surrendering an average of six goals in the victories
  • Also secured three ground balls in the win vs. the Buckeyes
  • This is the second career Defensive Player of the Week award for Shane
  • Last Michigan Defensive Player of the Week: Mira Shane (Feb. 9, 2016)


Freshman of the Week
Brindi Griffin, Maryland
Fr. – A – Edgewater, Md. - McDonogh

  • Helped the Terps earn their first conference win of the season with three points vs. Johns Hopkins
  • Notched two goals and one assist in the 17-4 win
  • Also picked up two ground balls and one draw control during the victory
  • This is Griffin’s first career Freshman of the Week honor
