• BTN's 2016 lacrosse coverage begins on Thursday, when Maryland hosts Northwestern in the conference opener for both teams. Leading up to the matchup, the network has been filming "B1G Close Up: Northwestern/Maryland Women's Lacrosse." The all-access special will air on April 7 at 9 p.m. ET.

• Four different Big Ten teams are ranked among the top 20 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) or Nike/Lacrosse Magazine polls, including three top-10 teams. Maryland leads the way at #1/1, followed by #8/13 Northwestern, #9/11 Penn State and #18/17 Ohio State.

• Eleven Big Ten women's lacrosse players from four conference schools were named to the watch list for the 2016 Tewaaraton Award: Maryland's Taylor Cummings, Alice Mercer, Zoe Stukenburg and Megan Whittle, Northwestern's Kaleigh Craig, Selena Lasota and Sheila Nesselbush, Ohio State's Cian Dabrowski and Penn State's Jenna Mosketti, Emi Smith and Abby Smucker.

• Through games of March 29, Maryland's Megan Whittle leads the Big Ten with 3.38 goals per game. Ohio State's Rainey Hodgson paces the conference with 2.00 assists per contest and the Buckeyes' Cian Dabrowski is the Big Ten's leader with 4.30 points per game. Maryland's Taylor Cummings leads the Big Ten with 2.75 ground balls and 2.75 turnovers per game, while Ohio State's Molly Wood paces the conference with 5.50 draw controls per outing. Maryland's Megan Taylor leads the Big Ten with a 6.00 goals against average, while Northwestern's Mallory Weisse is the Big Ten leader with 7.63 saves per game.
