Ohio State, Northwestern and Maryland Earn Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors

Offensive Player of the Week
Rainey Hodgson, Ohio State
Sr. – A – West Islip, N.Y. – West Islip

• Produced a career-high eight points with four goals and four assists in the Buckeyes’ win over nationally ranked Penn State
• Scored three goals in the first half, and assisted on the final goal of the opening stanza to give the Buckeyes a 9-5 advantage at intermission
• Currently leads the Big Ten with 2.06 assists per game
• The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree collects her first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week plaudit

Defensive Player of the Week
Kaleigh Craig, Northwestern
Sr. – A – Wantagh, N.Y. – Wantagh

• Helped spearhead Northwestern’s defensive effort in a 20-4 win over Michigan and a 17-12 victory against nationally ranked Notre Dame
• Tallied a combined five caused turnovers and four ground balls
• The Wildcats limited both the Wolverines and Fighting Irish to more than three goals below their season averages
• Contributed offensively with three goals against Michigan, and four points on two goals and a pair of assists versus Notre Dame
• The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree collects her first Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week accolade

Co-Freshmen of the Week
Megan Taylor, Maryland

• Averaged 7.0 saves per game in the cage in the Terrapins’ wins over nationally ranked Johns Hopkins and Rutgers
• Tallied eight saves in the 10-8 victory against the Blue Jays
• Secured six saves in the 18-3 win over the Scarlet Knights
• Currently leads the Big Ten with a 6.11 goals against average
• Earns her second Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade

Mallory Weisse, Northwestern
GK – Westfield, N.J. – Westfield

• Averaged 7.0 saves per game in the cage in the Wildcats’ victories over Michigan and nationally ranked Notre Dame
• Tallied six saves against Michigan
• Recorded eight saves versus the Fighting Irish
• Currently leads the Big Ten with 7.33 saves per game
• Earns her second Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade
