Maryland, Northwestern and Penn State Earn Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors

Co-Offensive Players of the Week
Taylor Cummings, Maryland
Sr. – M – Ellicott City, Md. – McDonogh

• Tallied nine total points with seven goals and a pair of assists in the Terrapins’ wins over nationally ranked foes Princeton and Ohio State
• Scored two goals against Princeton
• Produced seven points with five goals and two assists versus the Buckeyes
• Currently leads the Big Ten with 4.00 goals and 5.00 points per game in conference play
• Earns her eighth career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week plaudit and third this season
• Last Maryland Offensive Player of the Week: Taylor Cummings (April 5, 2016)

Kaleigh Craig, Northwestern
Sr. – A – Wantagh, N.Y. – Wantagh

• Scored nine goals for a total of nine points in the Wildcats’ split versus nationally ranked USC and Rutgers
• Scored three goals in the setback against the Trojans
• Tallied a career-high six goals in the win over Rutgers on Senior Day
• Currently ranks seventh in the Big Ten with 3.14 points per game
• The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree earns her first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week plaudit

Defensive Player of the Week
Lauren Murray, Northwestern
Sr. – D – Cross River, N.Y. – John Jay

• Anchored Northwestern’s defensive unit in the Wildcats’ split against USC and Rutgers
• Tallied a combined five ground balls and three caused turnovers
• Scooped up three ground balls and added a pair of caused turnovers against Rutgers
• Contributed offensively with two goals versus the Scarlet Knights
• The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree collects her first Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week accolade

Freshman of the Week
Madison Carter, Penn State
A – Davidsonville, Md. – South River

• Tallied five points with four goals and an assist in the Nittany Lions’ split against Cornell and Michigan
• Recorded an assist against Cornell, and scored four goals on six shots versus the Wolverines
• Currently ranks third in the Big Ten with 4.00 points per game in conference play
• Earns her fourth Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade
