• Heading into this weekend's slate, Maryland currently sits atop the Big Ten standings with a 3-0 conference record. Northwestern and Penn State are tied for second place at 2-1. With one more win, Maryland would clinch at least a share of the Big Ten Championship. The Terrapins will travel to Michigan on Saturday.

• Four different Big Ten teams are ranked among the top 20 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) or Nike/Lacrosse Magazine polls. Maryland leads the way at #1/1, followed by #12/12 Northwestern, #14/17 Penn State and #15/15 Ohio State.

• The 2016 Big Ten Women’s Lacrosse Tournament will be held at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium on the campus of Northwestern from May 5-8. All six conference teams will advance to the tournament. Penn State captured the 2015 Big Ten Tournament title in the inaugural season of Big Ten women's lacrosse.

• Heading into this weekend's slate of conference games, Maryland's Taylor Cummings leads the Big Ten with 4.00 goals and 5.00 points per game, and also paces the conference with 4.00 ground balls and 8.00 draw controls per contest in conference games only. Michigan's Anna Schueler and Cummings lead the way with 2.33 caused turnovers per game, the Terrapins' Megan Taylor paces the Big Ten with a 4.14 goals against average and a 68.6 save percentage, while Ohio State's Katie Frederick is averaging a conference-best 9.75 saves per game in conference play.
