Maryland Women’s Lacrosse Clinches at Least a Share of Big Ten Championship

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Maryland women’s lacrosse team clinched at least a share of its second straight Big Ten Championship on Saturday following an 18-8 win over Michigan at Michigan Stadium.

Boasting a 4-0 Big Ten record with one game remaining in the conference season, the Terrapins improved to 16-0 overall. Maryland wraps up the regular season on April 28 at Penn State and can claim the outright Big Ten Championship with one more conference victory.

Caroline Steele, Zoe Stukenberg and Megan Whittle all recorded hat tricks, while Caroline Wannen tallied three assists and scored a goal. The Terrapins led 15-5 at halftime.

The 2016 Big Ten Women’s Lacrosse Tournament will be hosted by Northwestern at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium from May 5-8, and will feature all six conference teams. All session and single-session tickets are on sale and can be purchased here.
