COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Following its 13-12 comeback victory over eighth-seeded Stony Brook in Saturday’s NCAA quarterfinals, Maryland’s women’s lacrosse team earned its ninth straight Final Four appearance. The Terrapins will take on either fourth-seeded Penn State or fifth-seeded Princeton in next Friday’s national semifinals at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
Taylor Hensh recorded a hat trick for the Terps, including the go-ahead goal in the waning minutes of regulation to secure the victory. Hensh also dished out one assist on the afternoon, and was joined by Zoe Stukenberg (3G, 2A) and Jen Giles (2G, 2A) with at least four points. Caroline Steele, Caroline Wannen and Megan Whittle each recorded a goal and an assist.
The semifinals will be played on Friday, May 26 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. ET, and will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
