Big Ten Athlete of the Year Nominee Spotlight - Alyssa Leonard (Northwestern)

Through Monday, the Big Ten will highlight the student-athletes nominated for the conference’s Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced on Monday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT on BTN.

Alyssa Leonard – Northwestern – Lacrosse

As a senior in 2014, Leonard earned second-team IWLCA All-America honors, pacing Northwestern's attack in both goals (41) and points (53) while helping the Wildcats to a 10th consecutive national semifinal appearance and a No. 3 year-end ranking. Throughout her career, Leonard ranked as one of the college game's most indomitable draw control specialists and ultimately graduated as the NCAA Division I all-time leader in career draw controls with 469.
